This album was mostly recorded in the course of the original Among The Oak & Ash sessions at Brian Harrison's Nashville studio, The Rendering Plant, and demonstrates Joplin's "collective" concept more broadly. Along with the original musicians from the first record, Joplin was joined by others in his life including bassist Jeremy Darrow, songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield, and many more from the Nashville music community. Additional songs were recorded at a The Sound Kitchen in suburban Nashville.
